The regional minimum wage applied from January 1, 2010

As stipulated in Decree No. 98/2009/ND-CP dated October 30, 2009 & 1997 of the Government as follows:
  • The regional minimum wage is the basis for calculating the salary; allowance in the labor contract, companies may not use this as a base salary of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance contribution for employee who passed probation or apprenticeship (including vocational training by enterprises themselves). Maximum wage paid to employee through the probation or apprenticeship must have at least 7% higher than the minimum wage.
  • The employee signed the employment contract at the office or head office, but work in other areas, the regional minimum wage applicable in the work place stated in the employment contract .
